Launch of the Judge’s Artificial Intelligence Assistant System During Wartime

Actions of the Judiciary’s Statistics and Information Technology Center in developing smart judicial services, sharing data, and facilitating the case review process.

Judicial Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure

Pahlevani, Deputy of Systems and Judicial Intelligence at the Judiciary’s Statistics and IT Center, regarding the use of AI in the judicial system, announced that three main infrastructures are needed in AI design: data storage and processing, specialized human resources, and data.

Currently, the most important issue raised in the country in the field of AI is the issue of data. This data is essential so that academic and research centers, as well as knowledge-based companies, can use it to train AI models.

Data Provision and Sharing

The Judiciary is a pioneer in the need for data and its provision for AI, and for about two years, the process of preparing and providing data to companies has been ongoing. Judicial verdicts are considered the most important output of the Judiciary system.

Anonymization of Judicial Verdicts
Last year, 10 million judicial verdicts were published and anonymized, and provided to knowledge-based companies.
Anonymization of Declarations
Also, one million declarations were anonymized. The Judiciary is pursuing the anonymization of judicial cases while maintaining confidentiality and security, in order to develop the approach of providing AI services to the public and judges.
Selection of Knowledge-Based Companies
40 knowledge-based companies active in the field of AI were evaluated, and ultimately the data was provided to 8 companies that possessed the necessary technical capabilities.

Launch of the Judge’s Intelligent Assistant and Public Services

Currently, the smart judicial guide has been prepared for the public and is available on the “My Judicial Services System”. The 8 selected knowledge-based companies guide the public so that they have complete information before receiving judicial services.

Deployment in the Judiciary Network

The judge’s AI assistant system was launched during wartime, and during this same period, this system has been made available to judges across the entire Judiciary network.

Mission and Database of the Intelligent Assistant

The main goal of launching this assistant is to provide scientific, analytical, and educational support for judicial colleagues, and its mission is to facilitate, accelerate, and increase the accuracy of the case review process. This intelligent assistant is intended to help judges perform their duties with greater accuracy and speed.

Laws and Resolutions

Includes all laws and regulations of the country, all resolutions of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), resolutions of the Presidential Institution, and the Legal Deputy of the Judiciary.

Verdicts and Precedents

Includes precedent-setting verdicts, verdicts of the General Board of the Court of Administrative Justice, and judicial verdicts registered in the system.

Jurisprudential and Legal Sources

Includes advisory opinions of the Legal Department of the Judiciary, legal and jurisprudential books, along with updates on all changes and amendments to the laws.

Localization and Information Security

Pahlevani emphasized at the end that this intelligent judicial assistant is completely native. The most important drawback of foreign AI is that it receives data and transfers it abroad; however, by using this native assistant, judicial cases are not provided to any other AI, and all information remains inside the country with the highest level of security.
